For many years, Roll Group and its clients have relied on Mr. Nick Doggett as Roll Group’s representative for most South East Asian countries, Australian and New Zealand. Roll Group is re-organizing their worldwide representation and as a result Roll Group will end their cooperation with Mr. Doggett for the respective area as per August 12, 2018.

BigRoll Bering transported successfully STS cranes to Spain

The three STS cranes are ready to operate in the port of Malaga. In one week, the BigRoll Bering transported these cranes, each 1350 ton, from Port Said in Egypt, to its final destination in Spain.

Thanks to the sophisticated ballast system of the BigRoll Bering, it was possible to Roll-on and Roll-off the STS cranes safely and smooth.

Roll Group opens third office

Roll Group will open a new regional office in Breda, as per September 2018. This will be our third office, in addition to the existing headquarters in Capelle aan den IJssel and regional office in Sassenheim.

With the opening of the office in Breda, Roll Group covers the largest business clusters outside the Rotterdam area.

The address of the Breda office is: Van de Reijstraat 100B, Breda.

Moreover, we will reduce our company’s carbon footprint by lowering fuel consumption, which is one of the objectives of Roll Group. Due to daily traffic congestion, a fair number of employees spend a lot of extra fuel and time traveling to and from the office. In addition to the lower CO2 emissions, Roll Group will enhance the working experience of employees and offers clients and partners the ability of three different meeting locations by opening the Breda office.

Transport of 66 transistion pieces in nine shipments

For the construction of a large German wind farm, RollDock Shipping transports 66 transition pieces from Aviles (Spain) to Eemshaven (The Netherlands).

RollDock and SAL Heavy Lift forms world’s first pool for dock vessels

As of April 1st 2018 the world’s first pool for dock vessels will be established. RollDock and SAL Heavy Lift will join forces for Roll-On / Roll-Off and Float-In / Float-Out heavy lift cargoes. The pool will consist of the combined fleet of six vessels and will be managed by RollDock with SAL providing specialized heavy break bulk cargo support.

RollDock SKY brings Maiden home!

27 years ago, Maiden wrote history by sailing the Whitbread Round The World Race
with the first all female crew with an outstanding performance, they finished second in the overall class. The yacht (58ft) was sold shortly after the race in 1990 and was recently found in a neglected state in Mahé, Seychelles.

RollDock and Roll-Lift joined forces

Roll Group was awarded by NEM Energy BV for the transportation of two boiler blocks and two combustor units from Taiwan to Malaysia. This project was a perfect example of an ideal Roll Group assignment, allowing us to put to work the combined capabilities of our in-house engineering department and our experienced heavy transportation teams, enabling us to offer a complete tailor-made solution by both land and sea.

Maiden Voyage RD SKY

March 16th, the MV RollDock Sky was delivered to RollDock Shipping B.V. by Larsen & Toubro in Mumbai. Shortly after delivery the vessel was fixed for her maiden voyage with various dredging equipment from Jebel Ali, UAE to Rotterdam.

RollDock Expands

RollDock Shipping B.V. confirmed the purchase of their 7th vessel, the MV RollDock Sky. This is the third semi-submersible multipurpose heavy lift vessel bought from Larsen & Toubro India. She will go directly into service after some upgrades.

Roll-Lift invests in new heavy lift equipment

Roll-Lift has recently taken delivery of a new SBL900 Gantry System. The equipment will allow safe and efficient lifting and positioning of heavy loads in circumstances where the use of traditional cranes is not feasible due to restrictions such as permanent overhead structures, or where manoeuvring space is limited.

UTE Project - Uruguay

Roll-Lift has been involved in the UTE Project in Uruguay since August of 2014. In early December 2015, sections of a condenser unit were delivered to the port of Montevideo.

The Rolldock Star loaded two FMCs in Pensacola, FL in May 2015. The ship arrived in Pensacola several days before the scheduled load date in order to prepare the vessel’s cargo space for the voyage.

Transport Fast Missile Crafts

Rolldock succesfully completed the transportation of two new Fast Missile Crafts. The FMC’s were loaded into the ‘Rolldock Star’ at Pensacola Bay in presence of the US Navy and MSC. Vessel’s crew performed the cribbing, sea-fastening and lashing in Pensacola, then the Rolldock Star sailed to Alexandria, Egypt for discharge.

UAN fertilizer plant expansion

Donaldsonville, Louisiana

Among other exciting events with the growth of Roll-Lift USA, they are continuing with the UAN fertilizer plant expansion in Donaldsonville, Louisiana. To date 21 barges of project cargo have been unloaded and rolled over the Mississippi River levee to the site.

Transportation of Transformer

Roll-Lift were recently contracted to perform the recovery and safe transportation to site of a 340kv, 330t Transformer.

Gorgon contract extended

The Gorgon project is one of the world’s largest natural gas developments and the largest single resource project in Australia’s history. The project involves developing the Greater Gorgon Area gas fields and constructing an LNG plant on Barrow Island (BWI). Barrow Island is a Class A Nature reserve - a small island located off the coast of Western Australia, which is home to plant and animal species that are rare or extinct on the mainland. In order to protect the island’s unique flora and fauna a comprehensive environmental management system is in place.

The RollDock Sun entered in to a time charter April 2012 in Singapore. The vessel was chartered to perform a “shuttle” service between the Asian Marshalling Yard (AMY) in Thailand and BWI.

Barging & Road Transport of Reactor

The transport by road and barge of a Reactor and Heat Exchanger weighing
almost 600 tonnes (1,319,600lbs) was carried out by Roll-Lift using one of
our C-500 Kenworth Prime movers, and K25 Conventional trailers.
The items were loaded onto the barge, towed along the Mississippi River
to inland waterways, and completed the final leg of the journey by road.

Opening new office in Houston

Global heavy-lift and specialist transportation provider Roll-Lift have announced the opening of a new US office in Houston, Texas. The office is situated on a 10 acre hard-standing site which will be used as an operational base and central depot for the fleet of brand new lifting and transport equipment, and is in a prime location with access to road, rail and sea links via the Houston Shipping Channel.
