Kinder Morgan Project

Kinder Morgan is the largest midstream and the third largest energy company in North America. They own an interest in or operate approximately 80,000 miles of pipelines and 180 terminals.

Roll-Lift supplied SPMT's, multiple cranes and managed barging operations to handle the receipt and installation of a splitter column on behalf of Kinder Morgan in Houston, USA. Due to the efficiency and professionalism shown by Roll-Lift in this initial phase, our scope of work was significantly extended to carry out other phases on site.

Roll-Lift successfully transported the T-102 splitter using 20 lines of SPMTs from the Hahn & Clay fabrication facility to the KBR dock in downtown Houston. The splitter was then loaded into a 200’ X 35’ hopper barge utilizing 2 LR1350 crawler cranes. Once loaded and secured, the barge sailed to Woodhouse Terminal to be unloaded by (2) barge cranes. Once the barge cranes lifted the splitter onto SPMTs, it traveled city streets until arriving at Kinder Morgan’s facility. After some prep by the onsite contractor, the splitter was finally set onto its foundation utilizing the LR-11350. The entire operation was planned and executed in a 2 week timeframe.
